  • 8 ounces spaghetti or rice noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce such as romaine or iceberg
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Cook the spaghetti or rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the shredded lettuce and sliced green onions.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
