  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw optional, for serving

Method
 

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
  6. Serve the pulled chicken on hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
