Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 green onions sliced (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice or quinoa for serving

Method

  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the broccoli florets, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to combine.
  4. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
