Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Roasted Cabbage Burgers
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the oven rack in the middle.
  2. Slice the cabbage head into 1-inch thick steaks. Drizzle with neutral oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast the cabbage steaks for about 25 minutes until tender and golden-brown.
  4. Shape ground beef into slightly larger patties than the cabbage steaks. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover to help it melt.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the cheese-topped patties on the roasted cabbage steaks and adding your favorite toppings.
