Ingredients

  • 8 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a clean kitchen towel.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Take one lasagna noodle and spread about 1/4 cup of the ricotta mixture along the length of the noodle. Roll the noodle up tightly and place it seam-side down in the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining noodles and filling.
  6. Once all the rolls are in the dish, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the dish cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
