Savory and Juicy Crock Pot Whole Chicken Made Easy!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 to 4 lb whole chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 lemon halved
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 onion quartered
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Method
 

  1. Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the chicken.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme. Rub this spice mixture all over the chicken, inside and out.
  3. Place the quartered onion and crushed garlic in the bottom of the crock pot. Squeeze the juice from the lemon halves over the chicken, then place the lemon halves inside the cavity of the chicken.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken on top of the onion and garlic in the crock pot. Pour the chicken broth around the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the crock pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes before carving.

Notes
