  • 1 pound Ground Beef select 93% lean for less grease or swap with ground turkey
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion (chopped) shallots can be swapped for a milder taste
  • 4 cups Broccoli Florets frozen broccoli can replace fresh if thawed properly
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil vegetable oil can be an alternative but will lose flavor
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds optional but recommended
  • 2 scallions Sliced Scallions highly recommended for finishing touches

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small bowl, combine reduced sodium soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch. Whisk the mixture until smooth and glossy.
  2. Heat a large deep skillet over medium-high heat and add sesame oil. Once shimmering, add the ground beef and chopped yellow onion. Cook for about 5 minutes, breaking up the beef until nearly browned.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce over the sautéed beef and onion. Stir well to coat evenly, and cook for about 1 minute until the sauce thickens.
  4. Fold in the blanched broccoli florets carefully, mixing them with the beef and sauce. Cook for an additional minute.
  5. Spoon the stir fry over jasmine rice or cauliflower rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions to serve.
