  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs or substitute with crushed crackers, oats, or cornflakes
  • 1 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
For the Cheese Filling
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella use fresh mozzarella, pat dry
For the Glaze
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Parsley optional, for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  3. Shape half of the meat mixture into a loaf and form a trench down the center.
  4. Stuff the trench with shredded mozzarella and seal with remaining meat mixture.
  5. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar for glaze, then brush it over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
