Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients and equipment.
  2. Melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over low heat in a small saucepan. Add heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Stir continuously for about 5 minutes until it bubbles gently.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans to the sauce and mix thoroughly. Simmer for another minute before removing from heat.
  4. Place your Hawaiian sweet rolls in a baking dish, cut a cross shape into each roll but don't cut all the way through.
  5. Brush the warm butter pecan sauce over each roll and reserve some for drizzling later.
  6. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar with milk and whisk until smooth for the glaze.
