Preparation Steps
- Start by greasing the slow cooker insert with nonstick spray or softened butter.
- Cut the stale brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and layer them in the bottom of the greased slow cooker.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cubed bread and gently stir to coat.
- In a bowl, combine cold butter pieces with brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the bread mixture.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2.5 hours, or on LOW for 3 to 4 hours.
