Preparation Steps
  1. Start by greasing the slow cooker insert with nonstick spray or softened butter.
  2. Cut the stale brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and layer them in the bottom of the greased slow cooker.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cubed bread and gently stir to coat.
  5. In a bowl, combine cold butter pieces with brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the bread mixture.
  6. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2.5 hours, or on LOW for 3 to 4 hours.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, and enjoy with your favorite toppings.

Notes
