  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar adjust based on taste
For the Dough
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour can use gluten-free blend
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast check freshness for optimal rise
  • 1 cup Whole Milk warm it to activate yeast
  • 1 large Egg can swap for ground flaxseed mixed with water

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar reduce for less sweetness

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberry Filling
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries with granulated sugar and optional lemon juice. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until thick, then cool.
Mix the Dough
  1. Combine flour, yeast, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Gradually pour into dry ingredients, stir until a rough dough forms.
First Rise
  1. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Roll the Dough
  1. Gently roll the dough into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Spread the chilled strawberry filling evenly over it.
Shape Rolls
  1. Carefully roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 even strips. Place in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
  1. Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes in a warm area.
Bake
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. Beat together cream cheese and butter until creamy, gradually add powdered sugar and filling, mix until smooth.
Glaze Rolls
  1. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm rolls after letting them cool for 5 minutes.
