  • 1.75 cups White All-Purpose Flour can substitute with cake flour
  • 1 tbsp Sugar optional
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg or flax egg for vegan option
  • Butter for greasing the pan

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Warm the milk to 90–100°F, sprinkle yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl using a whisk.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and egg to dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, keeping it slightly lumpy.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the batter rise for 30 minutes to 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Grease the poffertjes pan with butter and heat it over medium heat.
  6. Fill each divot halfway with batter, cooking for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form.
  7. Flip each poffertje and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with powdered sugar and desired toppings.
