Fold in the chocolate chips.
In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, drop tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough, leaving space between each.
Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
Fill the indentation with a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
