Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced (for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken pieces into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the chicken in batches for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  7. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
