Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs preferably panko for extra crunch
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until well combined.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Next, dip the floured chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  6. Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F).
  8. Carefully add the chicken nuggets to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove the nuggets from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  10. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Try adding different spices to the flour mixture, such as cayenne pepper for a spicy kick or Italian seasoning for a herby flavor.
