Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the boneless skinless chicken thighs with vegetable oil, finely grated garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and salt. Mix well and let marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the spice mix by combining white pepper powder, salt, brown sugar, and five-spice powder in a small bowl, and stir until well combined.
  3. Add cornstarch gradually to the chicken, coating each piece evenly. Let sit for a few minutes.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the coated chicken in the basket without overcrowding, spray with oil, and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken pieces, spray with oil, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C), and cook for another 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a bowl, sprinkle with the spice mix, garnish with sliced basil and hot peppers, and serve hot with lemon wedges.
