Method
 

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Add the vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth and there are no lumps.
  3. If using, fold in the chocolate chips for extra gooeyness.
  4. Microwave the mug on high for 40-60 seconds, checking for doneness. The brownie should be set but still soft in the center.
  5. Allow the brownie to cool for a minute before enjoying it straight from the mug.
