For the Pasta
  • 8 ounces Ziti Pasta
For the Skillet
  • 1 tablespoon Extra-Virgin Olive Oil can use canola or vegetable oil if preferred
  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with turkey or chicken
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Chili Flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce can substitute with soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Parsley can substitute with fresh basil or omit
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella can swap with cheddar

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the ziti pasta according to package directions, removing from heat one minute before al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and sauté for about 2 minutes until browned.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and season the beef with salt and pepper. Add garlic, onion, chili flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste, then pour in half of the reserved pasta water. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Fold the cooked ziti into the skillet and mix in the mozzarella cheese until it melts and binds the pasta, creating a creamy texture.
  5. Top with remaining mozzarella, cover the skillet, and cook on low heat for 2–3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve generous portions.
