Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 hamburger buns
- Coleslaw (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine the chicken breasts, BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir to coat the chicken evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
- Serve the pulled chicken on hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a tablespoon of hot sauce to the slow cooker.
- You can also substitute the chicken breasts with boneless, skinless thighs for a richer flavor.
