Description
A quick and delicious skillet dish featuring ground beef and broccoli, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the broccoli florets, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to combine.
- Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
Notes
- For a low-carb option, serve the dish over cauliflower rice instead of regular rice.
- Add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra color and nutrition.
