Description

A delightful and zesty twist on traditional monkey bread, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (16.5 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Cut each biscuit into quarters and toss the pieces in the sugar mixture until well coated.
  3. Layer the coated biscuit pieces in the prepared bundt pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Pour this mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces in the bundt pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.
  6. Allow the monkey bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve a drizzleable consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the warm monkey bread before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
  • You can also substitute orange juice and zest for a different citrus twist.
