Description
A delightful and zesty twist on traditional monkey bread, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (16.5 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Cut each biscuit into quarters and toss the pieces in the sugar mixture until well coated.
- Layer the coated biscuit pieces in the prepared bundt pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Pour this mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces in the bundt pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.
- Allow the monkey bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve a drizzleable consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the warm monkey bread before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
- You can also substitute orange juice and zest for a different citrus twist.
