Description
A delicious and easy-to-make stir-fry featuring savory ground beef and tender cabbage, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the shredded cabbage, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender but still crisp.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a low-carb option, substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
- Add other vegetables like bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas for extra color and nutrition.
