Description

A creamy and flavorful dish featuring tender beef sirloin and mushrooms in a rich mustard sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in the Dijon mustard, soy sauce, beef broth, and garlic powder.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, stir in 1/4 cup of sour cream just before serving.
  • To make it a complete meal, serve over cooked rice or egg noodles.
