- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds.
- Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- You can also substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts for a leaner option.
